MOORHEAD, MINN. (Valley News Live) – People in Moorhead will be dealing with the side effects of a tense power system after the city has implemented continuous blackouts.
The city says the blackouts will start at 10am on Tuesday, February 16. Blackouts will last about 30 minutes and will occur until further notice from the city.
Southwest Power Pool (SPP) has ordered blackouts to try to conserve energy, since much of the country is dealing with a strange climate.
The SPP says that if there are no blackouts across the network, there may be uncontrolled outages of greater magnitude. A check from the SPP website shows that it has services in 14 states, including Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana, to name a few.
