Cicely Tyson’s family announced that the late actress will have an official public screening from 10 am to 6 pm on Monday, February 15, in New York.
Tyson will be lying at rest at Abyssinian Baptist Church, 132 Odell Clark Place (formerly 138th St).
The Covid-19 protocols will be in effect for this visit. Masks and social distance are mandatory and no photographs are allowed.
Tyson died on January 28 at age 96. She was nominated for an Oscar for her role as a sharecropper’s wife in Problems, won several Emmys, including two for Miss Jane Pittman’s autobiography and won a Tony award for The trip to Bountiful.
