Christopher Knight: patio chairs at the center of Oprah’s interview with Meghan and Harry – by a ‘Brady Bunch’ actor – sold out online

Christopher Knight, the actor who played the middle brother on the television series “The Brady Bunch”, announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday that the Burchett Outdoor Club wicker and acacia chairs sold by his furniture company are sold out in sites like Overstock and Amazonas.

The furniture, by Christopher Knight Brands, sold out after being displayed prominently during Sunday night’s bombshell interview.

“In Oprah’s sensational interview with Prince Harry and Meghan this week, who would have thought the furniture would have been noticed, but it was … and not even for me!” Knight wrote on Facebook. “I am honored to have patio chairs in my collection becoming the seat of the most fascinating famous in recent history. It seems that Meghan and Prince Harry have been ‘decorated’ in a way that was never anticipated.”

The $ 554 set was used while the couple revealed shocking allegations about racism at Buckingham Palace and why they have ceased to hold important positions in the British royal family. The interview drew a large audience with about 17.1 million viewers on Sunday night in the United States and 11 million in the United Kingdom the following day.

Although the brand’s products often appear in films, reality shows and interview segments, a spokesman said the company does not know until they watch and watch it themselves.

“Unlike all previous times, this time the furniture grew beyond the decoration of the stage and became part of the story,” the spokesman told CNN Business. “It seems that everything the Royals say, do or touch attracts interest. While we are grateful for the notoriety – the response from social media has been tremendous – we are still surprised by the occurrence.”

The set of chairs is part of a collection that was presented for the first time this season. “Although it was already selling well and gaining a lot of traction, the attention that this famous interview brought to the product accelerated sales beyond what could be expected,” said the spokesman.

On Facebook, Knight clarified that he did not design the set, citing the “excellent taste and skills of his business partners in delivering a line of furniture that is affordable and worthy of royalty – both foreign and domestic”.

Knight stopped acting in 1988 to pursue a career in business. He became a serial entrepreneur, starting a 3D graphics company and an educational products business, and later launched his furniture brand in 2012. Six years later, he debuted a collection of curated lifestyle products, including bedding, table and glass.

In 2019, Knight returned to the small screen for a four-part series from HGTV called “A Very Brady Renovation”, featuring all six original Brady brothers from the cast, the Property Brothers and other personalities.

This is not the first time in recent months that an amazing product has become the center of attention during a heavily watched broadcast. The Vermont teacher behind the comfortable gloves worn by the US Sen. Bernie Sanders, during the inauguration of President Joe Biden, was inundated with requests from people who wanted to buy a pair. Although she originally said that they are no longer for sale, Jen Ellis subsequently auctioned off three pairs for charity.
