Serpentine Cider owner Sean Harris is asking for help from the community to identify a Christmas crook.
“You feel violated, all kinds of emotions,” said Harris after sharing the security video of a man stealing outside heaters and a roof over the Serpentine Cider patio on Miramar’s Christmas night.
“Finally, 2020 broke me. We have been through everything that happened and now this is the last week, ”said Harris, who thought he had endured the worst of 2020, after the pandemic forced two stoppages and only asked to leave the service.
“Sometimes it’s scary,” said Harris’s girlfriend, Bree Steffen. Harris agreed: “It’s scary. It is difficult to see your bank account plummeting. “
And now they have suffered another blow.
“All the heaters were stolen, the cover was gone, some of the tables and chairs were broken and the lights were all broken,” explained Harris.
Harris said the thief was seen unloading an extension cord and a power tool, which he used to break the locks that secured the items to the yard. Harris estimates losses of several thousand dollars, but said the most difficult loss is the damaged furniture he built with his father, who lives in the north.
“It is very painful to see that my father and my hard work have literally moved on. Having to rebuild will be difficult. My father is in his 70s. He can’t come during COVID and help me, so I’m going to do it myself. It won’t have the same effect as building it with my father. And more money than we don’t already have, ”said Harris. “I really hope someone recognizes him before he makes (break-in) for someone else. If he was able to do this to us at Christmas, he could do it to someone else. ”
If you recognize the man in the video, you should call the police.
