Christina Haack is back! The HGTV star (formerly Christina Anstead and Christina El Moussa) revealed on Instagram on Wednesday that she abandoned her ex-husband Ant Anstead’s surname and returned to her maiden name: Haack.
Haack announced in September 2020 that she and Anstead were breaking up after less than two years of marriage. In January, she changed her last name to “Haack” on her Instagram profile, but kept her username as @christinaanstead. On Wednesday; however, his profile no longer existed under that name. The star reappeared as @christinahaack and shared a post with fans about why it was so good to claim his surname.
She dedicated the position to her grandmother Mildred “Biddy” Haack, whom she referred to as “my greatest influence while growing up”. THE Christina on the Coast praised “Biddy” for always being “real in a world of so many fakes” and doing things without fear of judgment. In fact, she noted that “she was the only person I really trusted my life with.”
Haack continued, “She loved me very much and always let me know that I could achieve anything I wanted. She spoke life to me when I was down and taught me what unconditional love is. I miss her every day.” In the last line of his post, Haack stated that he is removing his family name knowing that “my grandparents are smiling from up there”.
Haack attached two photos to the post. The first showed Haack’s grandparents with his father as a child. The second photo showed a young Haack and his brother playing with “Biddy”.
Before marrying Anstead, Haack was married to her Flip or Flop cost Tarek El Moussa. During the seven-year marriage, she also adopted his surname. After her divorce in 2016, she continued to publicly follow Christina El Moussa, until she married Anstead in 2018 and took her surname. After a decade of living with two different surnames, she is now returning to her roots.
