Chris Hemsworth seems to be the most fit and muscular he ever had while filming Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder in Sydney.

But it seems that The Marvel superhero has had a minor setback, suffering an acute back injury in recent weeks.

According to Sunday Confidential, Chris, 37, recently sought treatment at a private hospital on Queensland’s Gold Coast, near his base in Byron Bay.

Chris has strengthened himself with intense training for both his fourth Thor film and a biopic for WWE wrestling royalty, Hulk Hogan.

The publication said it was not clear how Chris suffered the injury, but he appeared to be recovering.

Chris’s severe back pain and swelling are believed to have been treated by “specialist doctors” who administered cortisone injections to the Australian actor’s back.

Of course, the visit to the hospital was brief and Chris did not have to stay overnight after treatment.

Chris had previously spoken about his back problems, telling Men’s Health UK in March 2019 that he had to change his training and nutrition to prevent injuries from becoming ‘a drag’ while training and filming Thor’s films.

Chris told the publication at the time: ‘On certain days, when I had a few injuries – and I had a few during Thor – it can start to get boring, you know? But over the past year or so, I’ve changed my training and nutrition program a lot, and I feel better than ever. ‘

‘I found that after lifting weights for so long and not coming into contact with my fast twitch fibers, the agility my body had [has gone]. In the parent race at my son’s school last year, I hadn’t run in about five years – so, boom, you go and do a 100-meter run at full speed. My back hurt for weeks, ‘he admitted.

– I need to do more running work, I think. It just hurts. Running is painful. I don’t run much for that reason. I prefer to have mobility in the body because of surfing and get that fluidity that I like, ‘said Chris.

Chris and Spanish actress Elsa Pataky are currently committed to shooting in Sydney for separate projects.

The Hollywood couple has so far managed to travel back and forth from the capital of New South Wales to their coastal home in Byron Bay to stay with their three children between filming dates on the set.

The flight takes approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

The couple, who share eight-year-old daughter India Rose and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, six, live in a $ 30 million mansion in Broken Head, near Byron Bay.
