Chris Hemsworth criticized the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for its lack of diversity after a report revealed that it currently has no black members.

The 37-year-old Thor star joined an increasing number of celebrities posting the hashtag #TimesUpGlobes and his Instagram message on Sunday.

‘Hollywood Foreign Press Association: Not a single black member out of 87,’ says the Time’s Up post, along with a photo of a broken Golden Globe trophy.

Amy Schumer, Rashida Jones, Ellen Barkin and Amber Tamblyn are some of the other celebrities who also show their support.

This comes after a Los Angeles Times report revealed that the HFPA, which runs and organizes the Golden Globe Awards, currently has no black members among its 87 international journalists.

HFPA is a nonprofit organization of journalists reporting on the entertainment industry in the United States to the media predominantly outside the United States

Its 87 members from more than 50 countries include several people of color, but not a single black person.

On Thursday, HFPA released a statement promising to implement an ‘action plan’ with the aim of having a more inclusive and diverse membership.

“We are fully committed to ensuring that our members reflect the communities around the world who love movies, TV and the artists who inspire and educate them,” began the statement.

“We understand that we need to bring in black members, as well as members from other underrepresented backgrounds, and we will work immediately to implement an action plan to achieve these goals as soon as possible.”

The group’s members are mostly female, with more than 35% of HFPA members coming from non-European countries.

The organization added that it is exploring changing its rules to increase the number of candidates in the future.
