“I have a problem,” the comic actor says in part.

Chris D’Elia posted a long video on Friday in which he addresses allegations of sexual misconduct brought against him last summer.

The comic actor said in the nearly 10-minute video posted on his YouTube page “I have a problem”, but said he did nothing illegal.

“First of all, I know how it goes with everything that has been said and the emails that have been posted out there and what the media has been trying to say and I know it looks bad,” said D’Elia. “I maintain the fact that all of my relationships were consensual and legal.”

Last summer, D’Elia was accused by several women of sexually harassing underage girls. An alleged victim said she asked for nude photos knowing she was a minor. Another alleged victim accused him of trying to treat her. Screenshots of the conversations between her and the comic were shared. D’Elia was dismissed by his talent agency, CAA, shortly thereafter. He issued an initial statement when the charges came to light, but has not spoken since.

In his Friday video, D’Elia said that “sex controlled my life” and that he was seeking treatment. “It was the focus, it was my focus all the time. And I had a problem and I have a problem. It’s not like, months later, everything gets better. I need to work on it.”

D’Elia most recently appeared on the Netflix series You and a comedy special, Painless.
