China promotes Middle East initiative and offers accommodation to Israeli and Palestinian officials

China has hosted Israeli-Palestinian delegations in the past, with a trilateral meeting in 2017, including officials from the Palestinian Authority and the then vice president of the Israeli Knesset, Hilik Bar.

Although a member of the Security Council, China has historically played a minor role in peace negotiations, which have been conducted largely by the United States. He is not a member of the Middle East Quartet, which includes countries and international organizations involved in mediating the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
