Two young children were found after the minivan they were in was stolen when their father jumped out to deliver food in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO – Two children were found Sunday morning after the minivan they were in was stolen when their father jumped out to deliver food in San Francisco, officials said.
Jeffrey Fang was with his 4-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son while delivering for DoorDash on Saturday night, San Francisco police said.
He left the Honda Odyssey around 8:45 pm to leave an order in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, and when he returned, he saw a stranger driving in the van.
“I yelled at him and told him to get out and two of my kids are in the car,” Fang told ABC 7 TV in San Francisco. Fang called the police and a search was started.
“Times are tough, if you’re going to have to resort to theft, that’s another matter, but please don’t hurt my kids. May they return safely to me and my wife, please, ”Fang pleads.
Police announced on Twitter shortly after 1 am on Sunday that the children and the minivan were located in the city’s Bayview district.
“Children will be evaluated clinically and reunited with their parents,” said the police statement. “The suspects are still pending.”
There was no information about one or more suspects.
