Child falls from the tree in Eling Park

Today, at approximately 10:56 am, the Police Combined Communications Center of the city of Santa Bárbara was alerted about a child who fell from a tree in Parque Elings.

The report for responding to the fire apparatus was that a child fell about 25 feet from a tree in Elings Park. The patient was located on a trail near the main parking lot.

A Fire Prevention Inspector and an AMR ambulance team arrived at the patient and provided an updated location with better access outside of Las Positas and Jerry Harwin Parkway. Two fire companies arrived and helped with the patient’s packaging.

Subsequently, it was determined that the patient had fallen about 30 feet from the ground. It hit several large branches as it fell to the ground. Her injuries appeared to be moderate and she was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
