Child dies in accident involving Peloton treadmill

A child was fatally injured in an accident involving a Peloton treadmill, CEO John Foley said in a memo on Thursday.

Foley gave few details about the “tragic accident”, although he revealed that the company was informed of “just a small handful of incidents” in which children were injured on Tread +.

“Each one is devastating for all of us at Peloton, and our hearts are with the families involved,” said Foley.

The company – known for its state-of-the-art home exercise bike – introduced the Peloton belt in 2018, followed by an updated model in September 2020.
