The day after Super Bowl LV, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was already preparing for the next season. On Monday, Mahomes talked to the media and said he was in the cinema studying.
“I will do what I can to see the film and try to find ways to improve,” said Mahomes when asked about his plans for the off-season. “With our attack and the success we had, when the teams see the defensive plan he had and how well it worked, obviously they will try to do the same thing. Try to find ways to combat this and the evolution of our attack where we will have to do better things and be more efficient.

“And it really happens to me, not always looking for the big shot, but just finding ways to move the ball on the field,” added Mahomes. “And then come back after that. You have to prepare yourself and find ways to improve yourself physically, mentally.”
Mahomes and the Chiefs were trying to become the first team since the New England Patriots of the early 2000s to repeat themselves as champions of the Super Bowl, but failed in the big game.

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came out with a dominant 31-9 victory over the Chiefs, and a defense led by Bucs’ defensive coordinator Todd Bowles held Mahomes and the Chiefs in the single digits for the first time in their career.
It was also the first game in Mahomes’ career where he lost by more than one possession.

“I thought I did a good job at the end of the season to be more efficient,” said Mahomes via ArrowheadPride.com. “Obviously I didn’t do that in the Super Bowl, but I’ll try to find ways to improve myself that way. I mean, just be more efficient, taking what’s there, especially with these teams throwing covers so deep against us, moving the ball to the field and it’s something that I kind of have to fight because I have a very aggressive nature and I want to have the big shot. But as I watch the film and really study, I will have to improve on it so that I can become a better defender in the end of the day. “
