Chicago cop shot Saturday morning, third cop shot this week

A Chicago police officer was shot in the hand while responding to a report of a gunfight on Saturday morning, making her the third police officer shot just this week in the city.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said the policeman was “in a good mood, but in a lot of pain”.

After the policeman was shot, the police exchanged shots with someone shooting from the window on the first floor of a nearby house. A SWAT team established a perimeter and the negotiators were able to get the man out of the house and into custody without further incident.
