The Bears have found their next defensive coordinator – and this comes through an internal promotion. According to sources, Bears will appoint safeties coach Sean Desai as a replacement for Chuck Pagano.
Desai’s promotion comes after a long interview with coach Matt Nagy. Saints secondary coach Aaron Glenn, Colts defensive coach Jonathan Gannon, former Giants / Cardinals defensive coordinator James Bettcher, and Bears’ great player Mike Singletary were among the known candidates for the debut after Pagano’s retirement.
Hired by Marc Trestman in 2013, Desai, who has a doctorate in educational administration, has been the oldest coach on the Bears team for several years.
