Chet Hanks is being hit by a negative reaction after proclaiming that “White Boy Summer” is soon approaching.
“I got the feeling, man, that this summer is about to be a summer for white boys,” he said to his followers on Instagram. “Take it as you like.”
“I’m not talking about Trump, white NASCAR type,” he continued, “I’m talking about, you know, me, [R&B artist] Jon B, [rapper] Jack Harlow type white boy summer. Let me know if you can vibrate with this and get ready, because I am. “
The phrase is a play on words based on the song “Hot Girl Summer” by rapper Megan Thee Stallion and on the internet meme, which encourages women to embrace their sexy side during the hottest time of the year.
Chet’s comic take, however, did not go well on social media, as several followers called him to the video, as well as to potentially embarrassing parents, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson.
“Chet Hanks is proof that you can do everything right in the world and the children will still embarrass you”, an observer wrote, with another addition, “Are we sure that Chet Hanks is Tom and Rita’s biological son? Something just isn’t working. “
Chet had previously been accused of cultural appropriation, implementing a fake Jamaican accent last year, much to the chagrin of many members of the Caribbean community.
