However, the actors also had a great physical role to play in conveying the story. Joe Russo says, “Holland really destroyed himself for the role. He lost 13 pounds, he recovered them. We are on an independent film schedule here – he really didn’t have much time to do these things.”

30 pounds is a lot of weight, especially for Tom Holland, who also plays Peter Parker in the current Spider man franchise for Sony and Marvel Studios. The Russo Brothers are incredibly proud of their young cast, who managed to bring the play by Nico Walker cherry for the big screen. Walker, like Cherry, found himself robbing banks to support his drug addiction, which led to his arrest.
