Chelsea XI v Wolves: team news confirmed, expected roster, list of most recent injuries for Thomas Tuchel’s first game

AN

new era begins tonight at Chelsea, with Thomas Tuchel leading his first game, with Wolves visiting Stamford Bridge.

All eyes will be on the first team he chooses – and especially if Kai Havertz and Timo Werner will be entitled to matches.

The German was accused of changing the shape of the double face – after Frank Lampard failed to make the best of the summer hires that contributed to his dismissal on Monday.

Werner’s last significant act under the former coach was to miss a final penalty against Luton.

He and Havertz have been excused from important games in recent weeks, as Chelsea’s form declined.

N’Golo Kante is close to recovering from a hamstring injury, but he may have to wait until Burnley on Sunday to make his comeback.

It will be fascinating to see how Tuchel deals with Kepa Arrizabalaga, who would be allowed to leave this month after being displaced by Edouard Mendy as No1.

Similarly, German international Antonio Rudiger – although he regained his popularity before Lampard left.
