Dave Chappelle says he got what he wanted from Comedy Central – millions of dollars and the rights to his show – so now “Chappelle’s Show” is back on Netflix … with his blessing.
Dave shared some of his recent stand-up on Thursday night when he revealed the show’s return to streaming on Friday … just 2 months after Netflix pulled him in on his order.
On stage, Chappelle summed up her struggle for power with Comedy Central to get paid for any “Chappelle Show” deals they did … and he gave all the credit to fans for not attending the show at his request.
Dave said … “When you stopped watching, they called me. And, I got my name back, got my license and my program back and they paid me millions of dollars. Thank you very much.”
Dave went on to please his fans by putting him back after his 12-year hiatus in the comedy, which he says “kept me free”.
He also offered accessories to a couple of executives from Netflix and ViacomCBS – owner of Comedy Central – and added … “Finally, after all these years, I can finally say to Comedy Central: ‘It was a pleasure to do business with you. ‘”
