Chance The Rapper has revealed that he has a connection to a bizarre viral saga involving Cinnamon Toast Crunch and shrimp tails – but his link is strictly sweet.
The rapper from “The Big Day” talked about the strange story on Twitter on Tuesday, noting that he has connections with TV writer and producer Jensen Karp, who claimed on social media earlier this week that he found shrimp tails in your Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal.
Chance The Rapper shared a video in which Karp gave him a check for $ 5,000 to record a video clip. The Chicago native did not indicate when the video was shot in his tweet, but a longer video of the clip was posted on the YouTube channel for the comedy collective JASH in 2013. The song is featured in the video, “NaNa (ft. Action Bronson), ”It’s from the rapper’s 2013 mixtape,“ Acid Rap ”.

Karp, who had a busy week discovering the contents of his cereal, took the time to reply to the rapper on Twitter: “God bless you, Chano.”
Twitter users were confused on Monday after Karp tweeted that he found shrimp tails in his cereal box. Throughout the week, the screenwriter and TV producer shared on Twitter photos of the pieces mixed with the cereal, in addition to screenshots of several communications he had with representatives of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
At one point, the cereal social media team tweeted that after an “investigation” – which involved a team closely examining the image – they determined that the pieces appeared to be “an accumulation of cinnamon sugar which can sometimes occur when the ingredients are not well mixed. “
That response was not well received by Karp, who accused the company of trying to shoot him with gas.
Karp, who is married to actress Danielle Fishel, tweeted that he had detected other discoveries in the cereal box, which he said included a “Strange string” and “Black pieces,” among other discoveries.
On Wednesday, Karp posted an update on Twitter that he planned to send parts of his findings to General Mills and that he plans to independently conduct a DNA test for some of the parties for “identify the putative shrimp up to the species. ”
General Mills said in a statement sent to HuffPost that no discoveries found in Karp’s cereal have occurred on its premises.
“While we are still investigating this issue, we can confidently say that it did not happen at our facility,” said Mike Siemienas, a spokesman for General Mills. “We are waiting for the consumer to send us the packaging for further investigation. Any consumer who finds that their cereal box or bag has been tampered with, such as the clear tape that was found in this case, should contact us. “
Karp dismissed any idea that his Cinnamon Toast Crunch disaster was a scam during an interview with The New York Times on Wednesday.
“I’m a comedy writer, but like, there’s no joke here,” he said. “To take down my favorite cereal brand? I don’t even know why this is a funny joke. I love Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It is the only cereal I eat. I am the owner of the Nikes Kyrie Irving Cinnamon Toast Crunch. “
He told the Times that his main concern is for the company to “investigate” the incident for the sake of other consumers.
