Cena proves he’s too busy for WWE to make Fallon dressed as Peacemaker

Yesterday (February 1), John Cena praised his new job as a Mountain Dew Super Bowl pitcher, while undoing reports that he is “a lock” for a match WrestleMania 37.

The reason he gave for being mathematically unable to work at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on April 11th and 12th is his work filming HBO Max’s Peacemaker series in Canada. Cena says it will continue until July so that the series can premiere after his character’s debut film, The Suicide Squad, comes out in August.

In a move I’m choosing to interpret as a way of proving how busy writer / director James Gunn is keeping him, Cena made his last appearance on The Tonight Show not just via satellite – but in your complete peacemaker costume!

He again dismissed ‘Mania, but vowed to be back:

“Yes, I will. Unfortunately, you know, the state of the world – I mean, I’m not sitting on the couch next to you – is a difficult and unpredictable time, and now I’m doing it, filming Peacemaker, and it will take a lot of my time. I cannot recover due to international restrictions. So, at least for now, I’m here and I’m still a long way from WWE. But I am very much looking forward to returning as soon as possible. ”

Cena is obviously working hard, but is he working with us on this year’s Showcase of the Immortals? We’ll find out in a few months.

In the meantime, we have your Major Melon commercial ahead of us this weekend, and many Peacemaker later this year.

And if Cena’s conversation with Jimmy Fallon doesn’t get you excited about seeing him play this “idiot, bro, Captain America” (who seems to have a giant action figure of John Cena in the trailer he calls home) I don’t know what to tell you.
