James Harden’s drama seems to have no end, with a new report on Christmas Eve stating that the three-time NBA champion in the Houston Rockets has two new favorite teams in his switch request.
According to Kelly Iko and Sam Amick at The Athletic, Harden added the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers to his list of impending exchanges.
Sources told The Athletic that the Houston Rockets guard recently considered the Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers to be his favorite destinations. Brooklyn and Philadelphia were the first teams to receive this distinction in mid-December, followed by Miami and Milwaukee being added in the following weeks.
Harden was previously linked to the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks – his second favorite team after the initial Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers report leaked weeks ago. The ex-MVP has horned the Rockets in the past month after not attending the training ground and missing out on some preseason games while claiming to be training elsewhere (ie Atlanta and Las Vegas).
In addition, Harden was caught attending a private indoor party without wearing a mask. Former Sixth Man of the Year with Oklahoma City Thunder was fined $ 50,000 for the league, with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver explaining that no suspension was charged to Harden due to the first offense, along with $ 50,000 being the maximum awarded in his authority.
The Rockets failed to warn Thunder on Wednesday in the first game of the two teams in the 2020-21 season due to a positive COVID-19 test in the Houston locker room, stemming from an incident being investigated by the team and the league when John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins and newcomer Kenyon Martin Jr. cut their hair in a private residence away from the Rockets’ facilities, violating health and safety protocols. That game was postponed until an unknown day later.
It is unclear when James Harden will be traded, but it looks like his time with the Rockets is coming to an end.
