Cell phone drop causing problems for emergency dispatch centers

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – The Kentucky State Police, Posts 2 and 3 say they are facing serious problems with calls received at dispatch centers. Dispatch centers in Area 911 in Post 2 and 3 districts, as well as some other neighboring districts, are reporting outages. KSP is receiving emergency calls to 911 from Verizon operators at this time. If someone is calling on the AT&T network, they may not be able to.

Post 2 is asking people who can’t get through calling 911 to call 502-395-1771 or 502-682-0941. Rank 2 serves the counties of Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd and Webster.

Post 3 is asking people who can’t get through calling 911 to call 270-782-2010 or toll free 877-416-1224. Posto 3 serves Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson and Warren counties

Whether you call to report an emergency or not, they ask you to be patient and notify the dispatch of your location so that first aid can respond.
