Less than a week after CD Projekt Red brought official support for mods to Cyberpunk 2077, urged players to stop using them for now. The publisher said it is urgently working on a fix for an exploit that affects mods and custom recordings on the PC. “We were informed of a vulnerability in external DLL files that the game uses, which can be used to run code on PCs,” he wrote in a tweet. “For now, avoid using files from unknown sources.”
If you plan to use @CyberpunkGame custom mods / saves on the PC, be careful. We have been informed of a vulnerability in external DLL files that the game uses, which can be used to run code on PCs. The problem will be fixed as soon as possible. For now, avoid using files from unknown sources.

While mods can extend the game’s life (at least until CDPR eventually adds multiplayer modes), it’s best to avoid using them for now. There is no point in running the risk of a hacker taking control of your system. The publisher said it will release a fix as soon as possible.
