The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plans to “soon” issue new guidelines for people who have completed their COVID-19 vaccinations. “These are complex issues and science is evolving rapidly,” said CDC director Rochelle Walensky on Friday during a press conference at the White House. “What is more important is that people who have been vaccinated and those who have not yet been vaccinated can understand the measures they can take to protect themselves and their loved ones.” So far, during the pandemic, some 54 million COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the United States, and about 27 million people have received both doses of the first two COVID-19 vaccines authorized in the United States, according to the latest data from the CDC.
