CDC links listeria outbreak to a certain type of cheese

NEW YORK (WABC) – An outbreak of listeria has sickened people in New York and Connecticut.

The CDC says it linked illnesses to “fresh, soft cheese in the queso style”.

No brand is mentioned.

The agency is advising pregnant women and people over 65 not to eat cheese. Others must also be careful.

There have also been cases in Maryland and Virginia.

Seven people were hospitalized.
