CCHD eliminates mask mandate for Cascade County

GREAT FALLS – The Cascade County Health Department in Great Falls announced on Wednesday afternoon that, for the second week in a row, Cascade County has maintained a COVID-19 case rate of 10 per 100,000 or less.

As stated in the Order of Health Officer of February 17, 2021, two weeks at the same case rate or less was the trigger to lift the COVID-19 restrictions in Cascade County. This week, CCHD said the county has dropped to a rate of 9.6 per 100,000.

As a result, and with immediate effect, the mask’s mandate and 75% capacity restrictions at events and meetings have been lifted.

The CCHD noted: “Although the event size limits and the mask mandate are no longer in effect, it is extremely important for members of our community to remember what led us to this point: social distance, use of facial covers, limiting ability and other aspects of common sense practices such as washing your hands frequently and staying at home when you are sick. These best practices have resulted in our daily case rate dropping to the current level, and CCHD further recommends that these practices be implemented . “

The CCHD also said that companies, schools and other agencies still have the right to demand masks for customers and visitors.
