For weeks, Drummond was related to the Lakers as his likely landing point once he was bought. However, that has changed in the past few days, when the Knicks were first mentioned, and in the past 24 hours the Celtics have come in force. Boston has even met Drummond, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski told the network on Friday (via Yahoo Sports’s Keith Smith).
Per Woj on ESPN: “The Celtics met Andre Drummond today. Boston would like to add him to fill his hole in the middle. Boston has a real chance at him.”

Where Drummond plays next comes down to what he prioritizes.
The Lakers and LeBron James offer a chance to win a ring and a chance to increase their stock towards the free agency out of season, showing that he can accept and thrive in a somewhat reduced role (this role will only shrink more when Anthony Davis turn back). Boston offers a bigger role – replaced pivot Daniel Theis in the deadline – in a team with good young talents, but not one that looked like a candidate yet this season. New York offers many minutes and more money – the Knicks are almost $ 15 million below the salary cap and can sign a long-term contract with Drummond tomorrow (something like four years, about $ 60 million).
In the coming days, we will see what Drummond believes is important.
