Carson Wentz, Sam Darnold on the verge of being traded?

With the peak of the season now complete and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers crowned as NFL Super Bowl LV champions, we have entered what is expected to be a crazy off-season – which has already started with a change of defenders, including Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff – that took many by surprise. The reports say that we should expect more callers on the move sooner or later. Here are the most recent commercial rumors I heard about Carson Wentz, Sam Darnold and others.

Will the Philadelphia Eagles negotiate with Carson Wentz?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz could be involved in a commercial package in a matter of days. So, where does it end up?

Sources told me that the Chicago Bears are currently the pioneers in getting Wentz into a business. However, it does not rule out the Indianapolis Colts or San Francisco 49ers.

Wentz’s situation in Philadelphia deteriorated faster than anyone could have imagined, after the first choice of the first round signed a 4-year contract extension, $ 128 million in June 2019.

While the media reported a feud between Wentz and former coach Doug Pederson, those in the know told me that the quarterback’s relationship with the Eagles’ front office, as well as with Pederson, quickly worsened during the season.

If and when Wentz is traded, Jalen Hurts will take over as the Eagles’ starting quarterback.

What will happen to Mitchell Trubisky if Carson Wentz is dealt with the Chicago Bears?

If the Chicago Bears break up with Wentz, what will happen to Mitchell Trubisky? The expectation is that Trubisky ends with a team in which he would have to dispute the title. The New Orleans Saints, Las Vegas Raiders and Denver Broncos were franchises that caught my attention.

Will the New York Jets trade Sam Darnold?

Carson Wentz is not the only quarterback that can be traded. Sam Darnold is the other defender whose name was recently cited as a caller of moving signals. This is more the result of teams asking about Darnold instead of the Jets actively buying their choice of the first round of 2018.

Sources tell me that they think it is a real possibility that the Indianapolis Colts will be with Darnold. However, the 49ers will also be in the mix.

If Colts general manager Chris Ballard and coach Frank Reich switched to Darnold, it would be more than ironic. Most will remember that the Jets gave the Colts several choices for Day 2 over the course of two drafts. This allowed the Jets to move up three positions, from the sixth selection to the third selection, to guarantee themselves a quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft. Of course, that quarterback turned out to be Sam Darnold.

Is it a mistake to change Sam Darnold?

There are several people in the league who think it would be a mistake for the Jets to switch Darnold. As I reported in November, the teams still believe Darnold will be a quality starter in the league if trained properly.

More specifically, those with whom I spoke believe that Darnold is the perfect fit for the offensive system that will be implemented by the new Jets offensive coordinator, Mike LaFleur.

Marcus Mariota is also on the move?

Finally, sources told me that Marcus Mariota is attracting interest and is likely to be traded by the Raiders. The first general second choice signed a two-year deal with Las Vegas last March.
