Carson Wentz hovers over Eagles coach search

The Eagles started looking for a new coach late. It is unclear when they will complete the process. What is clear is that the new coach will need to have a clear plan to deal with the position of defender.

According to a source with knowledge of the research dynamics, there is no specific schedule for making a lease – but it may end sooner or later, and possibly this week. Like any other team looking for a new coach, the Eagles want the right person for the job. Unlike any other team looking for a new coach (except Texans), the quarterback issue dramatically complicates things.

The Eagles began by interviewing coaches who were supposed to receive offers from teams that started their search a week or more before Phil even had a spot. The Eagles then passed on to candidates outside the queue to be swallowed elsewhere.

Common sense suggests that the job will be for a coach with an offensive record, given the importance of fixing the quarterback in the Carson Wentz franchise. But the Eagles did not rule out a defensive specialist; in fact, perhaps one less offensive cook will make it easier for Wentz to coexist in the kitchen.

Wentz dynamics remain the most important aspect of the team’s present and future. From negotiating to get him to choose him over Nick Foles after the 2018 season to extending Wentz with a market value contract (at the time), the Eagles made it clear that Wentz is their guy. The apparent fact that Doug Pederson disagrees may be the biggest reason he is no longer there.

Therefore, the next coach will probably need to be someone who is fully on board Wentz – and who has the best plan to fix it. And for reaching it. Jeff McLane’s Philadelphia Inquirer recently it plunged deeply into the nooks and crannies of the dysfunctional relationship between the front office, the technical team and the quarterback, which apparently was difficult to train or control after receiving the validation and security of an important contract.

It will not be an easy situation for the next coach. All parts need to be on the same page, or the situation can quickly go from strange to terrible. Gather aggressive media and a fan base that has tasted confetti and now yearns for more, and it may take a six-year risky deal to close the deal.

Otherwise, the right person would not have to be in their right mind to accept this job.
