Carnival Cruise Line Announces Major Deployment and Schedule Changes – Cruise Industry News

Carnival Cruise Line released plans on Monday for additional ship deployments as it continues to refine its phased approach to a return to guest operations in 2021, according to a press release, resulting in some cancellations and moves specific cruises for ships.

  • In connection with the dry dock plans already announced for Carnival Magic, Carnival Paradise and Carnival Valor, the return of these ships to operations will be postponed until November 2021. Consequently, trips on the Norfolk Carnival Magic (shipments from September 29 to September 30 October), Tampa’s Carnival Paradise (shipments from June 5 to October 28) and Carnival Valor from New Orleans (shipments from September 16 to October 28) were canceled.
  • The planned seasonal service at the Carnival Miracle from San Diego has been suspended until further notice and the San Diego trips that were available for sale until April 2023 have been canceled, with the exception of seven trips to Hawaii, which will move to Long Beach.
  • The Carnival Radiance dry dock and transformation was moved to September, with a planned arrival in Long Beach in November 2021.
  • With the repositioning of the Carnival Miracle to Long Beach, the ship will take on the three and four day itineraries for the Carnival Radiance, from May 3 to November. 1 of 2021, as well as the seven Hawaiian Carnival Days mentioned above.
  • Carnival Miracle will launch a new four- and five-day cruise program for Mexico during the winter season, starting in November 2021 and continuing through April 2023.

Whenever possible, guests on the West Coast will be accommodated on a transfer to the Carnival Miracle (from Carnival Radiance) or on retaining their Hawaiian itinerary by boarding Long Beach. With this change, Carnival will eventually operate a three-ship operation from its port facility in Long Beach: Carnival Panorama sailing seven-day itineraries on the Mexican Riviera and Carnival Radiance operating on three and four day itineraries a year all over, with Carnival Miracle operating four- and five-day itineraries in Mexico and 14 days in Hawaii during the winter, according to the company.
