“The rules and procedures were not followed” when Sherwin gave the interview, said John Crabb Jr., one of the main criminal prosecutors in the Public Prosecutor’s Office in DC.
In court, DC District Judge Amit Mehta vehemently warned the Justice Department and defense lawyers in the case of the Oath Keepers Capitol conspiracy not to speak to the media.
Mehta called an emergency hearing on Tuesday with the lawyers for the case, following a New York Times report on potentially ongoing sedition charges, and Sherwin’s interview with “60 Minutes”.

Mehta added that he would not hesitate in the future to place an order of silence in the case of high profile.
