Capcom announces Resident Evil Village showcase event for January 21

Capcom is planning a major Resident Evil explosion on January 21, including all new details about Resident Evil Village, the next major entry in the survival horror game franchise. The Resident Evil Showcase next Thursday promises a “guided tour” of Resident Evil Village, which means a new trailer and our first look at the game.

The Resident Evil Showcase will air on January 21 at 5 pm EST / 2 pm PST. Capcom will broadcast the event on its Twitch, YouTube, Twitterand Facebook channels. The showcase will be presented by Brittney Brombacher of What’s Good Games, and will feature entries from Resident Evil Village producers Peter Fabiano and Tsuyoshi Kanda.

The showcase also promises more news related to the Resident Evil franchise, such as 2021 – the original’s 25th anniversary resident Evil – promises to be a great year for Capcom’s horror series. In addition to a new video game, a new original Resident Evil animation series called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is coming to Netflix in 2021, and a new live action movie is scheduled to hit theaters.

Capcom is also announcing a new title during the event. A closed beta test for an unannounced multiplayer game linked to the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil is coming for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to the official website for Resident Evil. The beta period will run from January 28 to 30.

Resident Evil Village is coming to PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. Although Capcom hasn’t announced an official launch date yet, a leak born from a ransomware attack on the company revealed an April 2021 period.
