Canon’s new camera kits make it easy to turn your DLSR and mirrorless into webcams

If you have a recent Canon or mirrorless DSLR camera from Canon and are interested in using it better, Canon today announced that it will soon start selling webcam accessory kits, allowing camera owners an easier way to retrofit their cameras. with high quality webcams.

Each kit has different parts, but all three packages include a USB cable to connect your camera to your desktop or laptop computer, and a battery and power cord so you can keep your Canon camera continuously plugged into an outlet. It is important to note that none of these kits includes a tripod to mount your camera.

Canon announced three versions of its accessory kit, which are available for pre-order on Adorama, Amazon, Best Buy and B&H Photo, with both retailers noting that orders must be shipped on March 25. The two most affordable kits are compatible with EOS M cameras (M50, M50 Mark II and M200) and EOS Rebel cameras (Rebel T3, T5, T6 and T7) and cost $ 89.99 each. The most expensive kit, which works with EOS RP cameras, will sell for $ 159.99. Alternatively, you can purchase a third-party charging kit and provide your own USB cable for less than the cost of Canon kits; or if you don’t have a camera, you can buy a starter webcam kit for just $ 466 on the Canon website.

Last year, webcams were in high demand due to the pandemic, as many people work from home or rely on video conferencing tools to communicate. Canon, like its competitors, has already released software that allowed homeowners to redirect some Canon cameras as webcams to deal with the shortage.
