London, Ontario police are looking for a male suspect involved in a vehicle theft that nearly killed a car salesman.

Authorities said the suspect appeared at a used car dealership on March 3 at 5:40 am, located at 080 Oxford Street East. The suspect got out of a silver Audi and went into the dealership to speak to an employee about a black BMW M4 2018 in the parking lot.

Surveillance images released by the police captured the incident.

The video shows the pair approaching the vehicle and the suspect getting into the driver’s seat while a male employee starts the car. The suspect then shifts the vehicle and accelerates towards the employee.

The clerk jumps onto the hood of the vehicle as the suspect exits the parking lot, heading east on Oxford Street East. The officer holds the vehicle as the suspect approaches Highbury Avenue, at which point he slides off the hood and onto the road.

A second vehicle, which can be seen in the video, passes by the victim when he falls from the car, almost hitting him as he passes. The victim was transported to the hospital by Middlesex-London Paramedic Services with minor injuries.

Canada’s CTV identified the seller as 23-year-old Moe Al-Kaissy.

Al-Kaissy told CTV that it was a “very scary” experience and that he thought he was going to die.

“At one point, I had to grab the wiper arm because it was slipping and my feet were dragged out onto the street and my shoes were lost – my socks were torn. My feet are all torn now.”
