The government post office is planning to send around 13.5 million postcards across the county, according to a press release. They are part of the “Write here, write now” campaign, set up by Canada Post in September to encourage letter writing as a means of connection.
“A meaningful connection is vital to our emotional health, sense of community and general well-being,” said Doug Ettinger, president and CEO of Canada Post, in a statement.
“Canada Post wants everyone to be safe, but also to keep in touch with the people who are important to them.”
There will be six different versions of the postcard, which will be sent randomly to each family. The messages on the cards will be of appreciation, love and thanks, according to the statement. Cards can be sent free of charge to any part of the country.
