COLOMBIA, SC – College football hopes to return to normal this fall. A small part of this includes bringing back the bowl’s eligibility standards.

This means that Shane Beamer’s first team in South Carolina will need to win six of their 12 regular season games to be eligible for the postseason. Considering that Gamecocks have totaled six victories in the last two combined seasons, many will not predict that they will do so.

But there is a way. It is long and tortuous, but it is there. Here are 10 things South Carolina must do to win a bowl shot.

1. Increase quarterback efficiency

Many (most?) South Carolina fans were ready for the end of the Jake Bentley era when it ended abruptly because of a foot injury sustained at the opening of the 2019 season, but the post-Bentley era was not all they expected.
