Cam Newton responds after youth soccer player talks trash to QB

Cam Newton is speaking out after a video of a conversation with a young football player who talks garbage circulated on social media.

The young player – who apparently participated in a camp with which Newton was helping, or played in a tournament where Newton was on the back lines – began to speak ill of the NFL quarterback and former league MVP.

The young player even observed how Newton was a free agent and used a bad word during the confrontation over Newton’s skill.

Newton kept his composer and even played him with a joke or two, but he continued to respond. You may watch the video of the meeting here.

Newton then issued a response on Instagram on Sunday afternoon. In his post, a video was presented of the young player talking to Newton and observing how there was no “disrespect” from both involved.

“… I see there are a lot of things rotting that happened over the weekend,” wrote Newton in his encrypted source. “For the natural eye, you see me asking the young man ‘Where is your father?’ but for me, talking to a child with everyone looking is not good for me !! So, instead of talking or staying back and forth with a child, I wanted to have a man-to-man conversation with his father.

“People often forget themselves as athletes who are often seen on TV, loved by those most hated by some, people often forget that we are real parents, real friends, real brothers, real children, human beings of true, etc !! That said, when I participate in tournaments across the country with my star team, I have dedicated my time, my energy and my experience to these kids who have been on our program for over 11 years and that’s not what people want to hear or even want to see …

“People want to see me arguing with another young person and understand my feelings … but the truth is that I influence children’s lives in a positive way. Make no mistake, I allow children to realize this ‘OUTSIDE’ using their football talents to take them to the next level and in most cases … OUTSIDE THE COVER !! So with that said, have an amazing rest of your day. “

Newton, as you may recall, is a free agent in this off-season, after playing the 2020 season with the New England Patriots.
