Callie Brownson to replace Chad O’Shea, Browns receiver coach, on Sunday

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Browns Chief of Staff, Callie Brownson, will receive the call to take up a coaching role again this week. Brownson will replace Pass Game Coordinator / Wide Recievers coach Chad O’Shea on Sunday against Steelers.

Brownson replaced coach Drew Petzing against Jacksonville on November 29, when Petzing’s wife Louisa gave birth to the couple’s first child.

“I was a little nervous about getting ‘Wally Pipp-ed’ to be completely honest,” said Petzing a few weeks later. “I am very happy that they let me go back to my own work.”

Petzing praised Brownson for his composure and adaptability and said the players didn’t miss a beat when she coached them in Jacksonville.

“She’s been amazing,” said Petzing. “There are no words to express what it means for this organization, for our team and for me individually. She’s been great to work with. Really, very impressive in terms of the way she attacks her work and really how much she does. She is involved in all aspects of our organization. Having someone like that to trust when there are many reasons in 2020 for you to miss a game or practice and having someone like her in the building is very comforting. She did an incredible job. “

“She is one of the reasons why the whole building follows the path that works,” said wide receiver Jarvis Landry, “and I know she is excited about it. I know she’s going to take care of your details and make sure we’re doing the right things out there, putting the right people in the game and being aware that she’s on the sideline so she can do our job, make sure to that we’re doing ours. “

O’Shea will miss Sunday’s game after testing positive for COVID-19 earlier this week.
