Call of Duty: Warzone: Teasers suggest zombies and Nova Gas are coming

Call of Duty Warzone appears to be causing a Zombie crossover, with testing machines out of place and screen distortion being reported by players. in Warzone’s Rumble playlist. You can see the machine in this tweet from EricMaynardII. When approached, the player receives a prompt that says ZAI / ACTIVATE_ZOMBIES, but he does nothing. The script for the prompt is clearly not what it should be – it looks like players shouldn’t have found it yet, or maybe it’s part of a larger Easter egg or ARG.

Other war zone players have noticed distortion on the game screen, which works a bit like a jumpscare, except with TV static and Morse code. CaberCC triggered the morse code pop-up, which has background songs. On Reddit, user Soggy_nugget86 posted a similar video on the recently added Rebirth Island, which appears to be an extended version of the scare, which contains some Russian voice lines. In the comments, the user Wolf-of-icewrack apparently translated what is being said.

– Dispatch, this is the Russian vessel “Vodyanoy” channel 1-2, about

-This is dipatch, requesting a license to send to Verdansk, about

– Dispatch, cargo protected, all systems are fine. Get ready to go. On.

You can actually see the Vodyanoy ship in Warzone, seen by KStidge on Twitter. But what is it carrying? The community thinks it’s Nova 6, since Rebirth Island is where the chemical weapon was developed, and gas appears throughout the Black Ops tradition and in the game’s Zombies mode. The history of the war zone is looking very interesting now, so expect more news and Easter eggs in the coming days. All signs point to zombies.

In other war zone news, Activision recently banned more than 60,000 cheaters from the game.
