The last season of Call of Duty is almost here. On Tuesday, Treyarch announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone the 2nd season is coming up on February 25th. Although Treyarch hasn’t revealed much about the season yet, the release date announcement came with a trailer that gives us some clues about Operators and the arsenal that may be included.
The trailer shows a team of soldiers flying through the jungle of Laos in a helicopter, apparently in search of someone named Naga. It turns out that Naga is a likely villain with dark glasses who is working to secure a shipment of Nova 6, which he is sending to Verdansk. Near the end of the trailer, Naga escapes and our helicopter full of soldiers arrives to clean up the remaining opponents and search for Naga on foot.
Based on the previous trailers, it appears that many of the people on the helicopter will form the Operators that players can choose from in Season 2, but that is not all the new content that the trailer revealed. We also saw some new weapons that are probably coming into the game.
The first new weapon that appears is a Beast, which one of the likely Operators uses to defeat an enemy. Then another soldier jumps out of the helicopter carrying what appears to be a Galil, which would be new to the game. Then, some other soldiers pass with slightly less recognizable weapons, but also possibly new ones, and finally, someone jumps out of the helicopter carrying an entire minigun.
Of course, we don’t know whether all of these weapons will enter the game or in what way; the minigun may be a new Scorestreak. We should have a better idea in the near future, as Treyarch reveals more about the second season before its release next week.
