Zombies have been slowly infiltrating Verdansk since the cargo ship Vodianoy was taken ashore at the beginning of season 2, but now they are starting to spread. At the Call of Duty: Warzonemost recent update, the zombies moved from the wreck to the prison in the southeastern part of the map.
As well as the outbreak of infection on the ship, players can visit the Prison to trigger a zombie killing event that grants access to extra items. If a player activates the zombie terminal inside the Prison, they will have to kill 40 zombies in a short period of time, while fighting other players as well. Once all zombies are dead, a key card will drop, allowing players to access a special loot chest that offers better weapons and a legendary gas mask.
While it is clear that the zombie infestation in Verdansk is spreading, it is not yet clear how far they will get on the map. For now, the zombies have only managed to cover a little bit of ground, but it’s possible that the developer Raven Software has let the infection spread faster and faster like that. War zone the season continues. In Raven’s official blog post about the event, there is a small accountant that says 5%, although it is unclear what exactly this is telling.
