UPDATE 2: Fans of the Cold War and the War Zone of Call of Duty Black Ops are being forced to line up to access online multiplayer.

Judging by the latest social media reports, Call of Duty servers are experiencing high volumes and players are getting in line.

Although not ideal, it seems that there is some light at the end of the tunnel for fans waiting to enter the game.

UPDATE: Microsoft has published a new update on the problems of the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone server.

Microsoft encourages players to check the Xbox status page for updates on Call of Duty server issues.

“We are aware that users may experience problems when playing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. We will make updates here and at xbox.com/status when we have more information to share! “

ORIGINAL: Call of Duty’s servers appear to have gone down, leaving thousands of fans unable to enjoy multiplayer.

The status of the Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and War Zone server is a gloomy read for fans, who complained about not being able to access multiplayer.

The independent website Down Detector has received more than 1,000 reports that Call of Duty is not working.

The interruption tracker monitors social mentions on certain topics to detect when services are falling worldwide.

The Down Detector outage map shows that Call of Duty issues are affecting users in the UK, Europe and the USA.

Fans trying to log in are greeted by a message suggesting that the servers may be down for maintenance.

“It is not possible to connect to the Call of Duty Cold War Black Ops online services,” says the login page.

“The servers may be down for maintenance or you may be experiencing a network outage. Try again later.”

Activision is investigating the problem and recommends that PC users clear the cache.

“Hi! I’m sorry to hear about your problem. You could try clearing your cache to see if it helps https://bit.ly/2NpJLMn. If that doesn’t work, DM your Activision ID, email, platform and username when you stand a chance. “

Needless to say, fans have given their opinion on the problems with the online server.

“I put my 2xp and 2xp gun tokens a few minutes before I fell,” tweeted a fan.

“Well. Call of Duty is off the air. I think today is a video editing day,” another tweeted.

The news comes just days after it was suggested that Call of Duty Warzone – Season 2 it could end with a new secret mode.

According to reports, the Verdansk map could be bombarded by a shower of nuclear weapons.

Some fans have found audio files that include references to Verdansk being invaded by zombies.

The new Prague Zones are likely to be populated by undead creatures and may include players who need to exile before being invaded.
