Californian woman’s body found in canal, leading to homicide investigation

A body found floating in a California aqueduct last Sunday was later identified as belonging to a 36-year-old local woman who had disappeared the night before, according to reports.

Chenin Carlson was last seen around 8:30 pm on December 19, leaving her home in Manteca – east of San Francisco – for her new job at Amazon, near Tracy, her husband said, according to Modesto Bee .

But she never got to work.

Authorities said they were investigating Carlson’s death as a homicide, but gave no other details, the newspaper reported.

His body was found in the Tracy Aqueduct by two fishermen, The Record of Stockton reported.
