Murphy-Goode winery announced a national search, dubbed “A Really Goode Job”, for a lucky individual to work with his team and live without paying rent for a year in Sonoma, California, starting in September 2021.

The job includes a salary of $ 10,000 a month, living without rent for a year in the charming city of Healdsburg, one of Sonoma County’s top destinations, and a year of supply of Murphy-Goode wine.

The family winery, founded in 1985, first launched the position in 2009 to “register a year of life and work in Murphy-Goode through social media,” according to a company press release. However, the company is now bringing the position back, as the country faces a “new set of challenges”.

In the first 90 days, the new hire will explore the entire winemaking process, accompanying winemaker Dave Ready Jr., son of one of the company’s founders, and the rest of the Murphy-Goode team.

The company will then work with the contractor to “identify his passion and create the ideal position at the winery for the rest of the year and, hopefully, afterwards”.

Murphy-Goode says he is looking for candidates who will take life one sip at a time and answer “yes, please” when asked “red or white”. In addition to gaining strong knowledge of vineyards, wine operations and wine in general, other potential roles include learning about the world of e-commerce and “working with teams to raise awareness and create demand for the Murphy-Goode winery”.

Candidates will be assessed on “role value, creativity and design, applicable experience and skill set.” The happy winner will be announced in July 2021.
