California rotomolder opening factory in South Carolina

Corona, California – Peabody Engineering & Supply Inc., a rotary molder for polyethylene storage tanks, is spending $ 5.6 million to open a plant in Liberty, SC

The South Carolina Department of Commerce announced the news on December 14. Corona-based Peabody Engineering was founded in 1952 and manufactures tanks and customized products. The new plant will employ 35 people and is scheduled to open in the middle of the summer of 2021.

Liberty is about 20 miles west of Greenville, SC

“After a five-year search for our new manufacturing location on the East Coast, we decided on Pickens County, in the beautiful state of South Carolina,” said Peabody Engineering CEO Mark Peabody in a press release.

“We chose this location not only because of the strong workforce, but also because Pickens County and South Carolina understand that manufacturing is the backbone of our country’s economy, and its focus is clearly on helping companies like ours succeed”, he said.

The Economic Development Coordination Council awarded Pickens County a donation of US $ 300,000 for project-related costs.
