Texas owner Cal McNair said he wants to discuss hiring new general manager Nick Caserio with quarterback Deshaun Watson, but so far they have not spoken.
McNair said when introducing Caserio that he hopes to speak to Watson soon.
“I reached out to Deshaun about signing Nick, and I’m looking forward to having him answer me when he gets back from vacation, ”said McNair.
There is a widespread perception that Watson is unhappy in Houston, both because he had a tremendous year, but the team around him still made it 4-12, and because Watson argued that Texans hire Eric Bieniemy as head coach and Texans not even interview Bieniemy.
At Watson, Texans have one of the best players in the NFL, one of the few players with whom a franchise can be built. But at the moment, Watson is keeping his distance.
