CA woman gets COVID vaccine and suddenly dies of something else

A 78-year-old Californian woman died after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, but her death does not appear to be linked to the shooting, health officials said on Saturday.

The woman began to complain of discomfort after receiving a dose of the Pfizer vaccine around noon on Friday, said Dr. Michael Morris, director of Kaiser Permanente Southern California’s vaccination program, in a statement.

She lost consciousness while being treated by the medical team. Paramedics started doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her, but she couldn’t be revived, Morris continued.

Authorities say there were no signs or symptoms that the woman was allergic to the vaccine. His cause of death is still being determined.

The woman’s family said she had a history of heart disease.

Despite the tragedy, her 57-year-old husband, who also received an injection of COVID-19, says she still plans to receive the second dose in a few weeks, officials said.

Health officials say the site will remain open for scheduled vaccinations.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that if a person has a severe allergic reaction after receiving the first dose of the vaccine, they should not receive the second dose.
