Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd – who became a billionaire this week after launching the company’s successful initial public offering – is staying in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
In an internal Slack sent to the team and seen by Page Six, Herd congratulated his team and encouraged them to remain “humble, kind and collaborative”.
“Don’t watch the stocks, watch the customer feedback and growth,” wrote Herd, 31, the youngest CEO to go public. “Pay attention to success stories and customer complaints… We are not perfect, but every day is an opportunity for us to improve. We will remain humble, kind and collaborative. Tomorrow’s success is not promised, and it is our character and values that will keep us together during the ups and downs that lie ahead. “
Herd also reiterated his commitment to “put inclusion, diversity and equality at the forefront of our priorities”.
“We will do the right thing and lead with our values,” she wrote. “Please remember, we are all in this together – communicate and take care of each other.”
Bumble is the dating app that puts women in control, allowing them to take the first step. It was valued at $ 8.7 billion on Friday after the company’s stock soared 63% to $ 70.31 after its market debut on Thursday.
