The Chicago Bulls are a team that may be looking to make a big impact deal ahead of the NBA negotiation deadline. Although there have been some rumors surrounding the Bulls, no star players have been connected to them yet. Is the great Dallas Mavericks star, Kristaps Porzingis, a potential target?

If the Bulls really want to make a big switch to improve their squad, they will look for a player who can fit in the long term alongside Zach LaVine. Porzingis is certainly a player who can fulfill that role.

So far this season with the Mavericks, Porzingis has averaged 20.2 points per game to go along with 8.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.4 assists. He hit 46.9 percent of the ground overall and knocked 34.9 percent off his three-point attempts.

Those numbers would look great for the Bulls. Chicago would probably have to give up Lauri Markkanen or Wendell Carter Jr. as a starting point for the commercial package. Changing any of these guys would be worth acquiring a talent like Porzingis.

Although Porzingis has not yet been connected to the Bulls by legitimate rumors, The Big Lead certainly thinks he would fit well in Chicago.

More than likely, any commercial package would also include Otto Porter Jr. returning to the Mavericks to help with salary purposes. That, too, would not be a cause for concern for the Bulls.

Billy Donovan and company are currently out of the playoff image with a 16-18 record. This is good enough for seed number 9 in the Eastern Conference. However, they are only two games away from the Boston Celtics.

In a very close conference, the Bulls can be absolutely aggressive. They are not far off and a pair of Kristaps Porzingis and Zach LaVine would make them a limit candidate. The move would also give them something impressive to build in the years to come.

Expect to hear the Bulls mentioned in some rumors as the deadline approaches. Porzingis may not be a target, but it is certainly an intriguing possibility to think about.
